Mum and Baby Yoga Can Help To...

• Foster a sense of community...

One of the main benefits of the class is that mums get to meet with each other.

• Encourage proactive self-care...

By attending this class, Mum can take time and care for herself. This is often overlooked in the postpartum period.

• Provide an opportunity for Mums with limited support to practice yoga in a baby-friendly environment...

The private studio is a calm and tranquil safe space for you and your baby.

There are baby changing facilities and a communal kitchen.

• Improve physical and mental wellbeing...

As with all yoga, these classes will help to regulate the nervous system and alleviate the stress of early motherhood. Yoga also builds physical strength and helps the body to recover after birth.

Physical Benefits for Mums

• A gentle practice tones the abs and helps bring the organs back into place.

• Through yoga, mum regains awareness of the abdominal belt after pregnancy so her body can find its new centre of gravity.

• After pregnancy and birth, yoga can help to rehabilitate the pelvic floor and requires the student to tune into her body.

Mental Benefits for Mums

• Resuming healthy habits allows new mums to build their confidence.

• By practicing self-care mom develops an understanding that if she is well, her child is too.

• Yoga teaches the importance of relaxation and self-care.

• In a Mum and Baby Yoga class, mums start to listen to their own needs again.

Benefits for Babies

  • Boosts physical and emotional development for baby.

  •

  • Promotes sleep and soothes babies.

  •

  • Aids in language development.

  •

  • Encourages parent/caregiver-baby bonding.

  •

  • Sensory benefits (hearing, sight, touch, smell)

What equipment does Mum need to bring to the class?

• A small blanket that smells like home.

(Please do not to bring anything that has been washed with a strong-smelling soap/wear strong perfumes.)

• Small toys (if required for age).
